Okla. Pilot Trooper Hospitalized After Plane Crash

A veteran Oklahoma Highway Patrol pilot injured when his aircraft crashed during search investigation Friday was in stable condition Monday.

A veteran Oklahoma Highway Patrol pilot injured when his aircraft crashed during search investigation Friday was in stable condition Monday, reports KFOR.

Pilot Dennis Dickens was injured when his plane went down in Pottawatomie County while he searched for a suspect who fled an accident scene on foot. Dickens underwent several hours of surgery early Saturday, reports The Oklahoman.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration have begun an investigation of the crash, which occurred at about 7 p.m. Authorities eventually located Brent McKenzie, who now faces multiple charges.
