A Pennsylvania State Police trooper died Thursday morning after his patrol car struck a tractor-trailer truck in Beaver County.

Trooper Blake Coble, 48, was three months away from retirement. He was a 24-year veteran of the agency, according to a press release from the governor's office.

In response, Gov. Tom Corbett ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the fallen trooper. Trooper Coble was assigned to Troop D in Beaver Station.
