Two undercover LAPD detectives were wounded in an ambush Tuesday morning, after a gunman opened fire on them as they waited to enter the Wilshire Division station.

The ambush "was a blatant attempt to assassinate two of the people who protect this community," LAPD Chief Charlie Beck told the Los Angeles Times.

The officers suffered only minor injuries in the 4:30 a.m. attack and returned fire. One detective suffered a minor head injury either from a bullet or shattered glass and the other detective suffered a minor injury to his hand.

The suspects fled the scene, as the LAPD cordoned off the Mid-City area and launched a manhunt.

Now, If it had been us the police who shot at wonded or killed a savage who committed this crime, the rest of the savages would be protesting in the street.

Cops in this country are the targets in and out of the court room. so watch your ass brothers in blue...

God bless these Officers, just waiting to go on shift as the sheep dogs of the community! I hope SIS is out in force hunting these goblins.....
Wish you speedy recovery detectives!

Love the TV banner:"Officer involved shooting", not low life slime try to assassinate Police Officers. I pity you guys working in Liberalland, where if you return fire your sued and probably fired or your dead. Glad both Officers are OK, just sorry they didn't get their targets. Blues, Stay Safe.

Law enfocement today is perhaps facing the most dangerous breed of criminals we have seen. Unfortunately, this trend will continue and we will see even more violent criminals surface. Lets all be careful out there.

Wait a minute, I don't understand, doesn't this criminal/"gunman" know that there are very strick gun laws in this area? Oh man, Feinstein is going to be pissed now. The media better cover this up quick. Tomorrow's headlines will read, "Officers tripped on curb walking into work and received minor injuries"

Sgt. Mike @ 6/26/2013 8:15 PM

These planned, orchestrated events are happening with far greater frequency...keep your eye open brothers and sisters.

Capt.Crunch @ 6/28/2013 5:14 PM

I really would like to see these criminals caught and find out what their motive was. This for all we know could have been a terrorist attack or just a personal one or other reason.

Jelly @ 7/1/2013 10:18 AM

Is this the same Capt. Crunch that just a week ago said he didn't have a problem with letting 10,000 prisoners back out onto the street of California? Wow, make up your mind would you!
