VIDEO: N.M. Trooper, Bystanders Save Girl

A New Mexico State Police trooper and several bystanders lifted an overturned vehicle and pulled an 8-year-old girl to safety at an accident scene.

Officer Steve Nunez responded to an accident along Interstate 40 on May 8 just east of Grants in western New Mexico. When he approached the overturned vehicle, Officer Nunez noticed that the girl was face down and unconscious. The vehicle was covering most of her body.

Four motorists passing by stopped to help Officer Nunez lift the vehicle and pull out the girl, who had not been wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, reports KRQE.
