Nearly 1,700 cyclists with the Police Unity Tour will arrive Sunday at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. for the commencement of National Police Week.

Riders left six locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia on Thursday and Friday. They rode several hundred miles and will begin arriving at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at 2 p.m.

After arriving, each rider will pedal through the memorial's "Pathways of Remembrance" that flank the memorial walls. Once each rider has filed onto the memorial grounds, there will be a brief ceremony with remarks by the Police Unity Tour's board of directors and Craig W. Floyd, chairman and CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The Police Unity Tour raises funds for the memorial that honors fallen officers.
