VIDEO: Wash. Man Shakes Off Four TASER Hits

A man running across Interstate 5 in Marysville, Wash., shook off four TASER hits as he taunted officers and resisted arrest on Sunday.

The encounter went viral after a family waiting in traffic on the shut-down interstate filmed it and added colorful commentary, calling it "awesome," "amazing," and "our best Easter ever."

The unidentified man can be seen running across the interstate and being repeatedly stunned by pursuing officers. At one point the man waves his arms at the officers in a taunting way, and runs toward the Jersey barrier. Officers eventually tackle the man and place him under arrest.

The family who filmed the encounter provided the raw video to Seattle-based KCPQ. Police told WPTV that the man was under the influence of drugs.

this is what society has come to... they see officers fighting some nut job and they bust out the popcorn for the show....? with their KIDS???
I'm all for the entertainment value of videos we end up in... but while its happening? its a big joke?

I really cannot tell from the video, but I believe, as far as the suspect "fighting" through the Taser that the officers were just not able to get good probe placement because of the way he was bouncing around. Too bad they were not able to set a good drive stun on the first tackle. Good restraint shown with the Troopers.

I think a good few strikes with the baton would have taken him down.

I am numb to hear the parents of the children laughing instead of explaining the dangers to everyone including themselves. When the female stated .."wow this is the best Easter"....that really hit me! What a bunch of morons. Hopefully the children will grow out of this dispassionate display for others and lack of parental responsibility. I was on the edge watching the video and hoping the best for the Troopers. Paece to you my brothers stay safe @ all costs!

A lesson to all of us, sometimes for whatever reason your equipment does not work as advertised. When is the last time you hit it hard in the gym? Don't be wishing you had at 0300 along a desolate stretch of highway while you are wrestling for your gun in a ditch. You hear the sirens comming in the background but it seems like an eternity till they get there. Sometimes its just man to man as it has been for thousands of years. Ive lived this nightmare but was prepared. Are you? Stay safe.

My career came to a sudden halt after I was makng a routine contact & the nut job who was cracked out attacked me attempting to take my weapon to kill me. My left knee was blown out, eyes gouged, you get the point. I did not have a taser that dreadful night, used a full can of pepperspray, & fought for my life. Second guess myself everyday since about why I didn't shoot hm. After back-up arrived he was finally placed into custody. He won the battle, but not the war. 1st thing on the agenda, I.A. for excessive force. Me, forced medical retired.
