N.M. Cop Struck By Ricochet While Investigating Theft

A rookie Albuquerque police officer was struck in the back by a ricocheting .45-caliber bullet Sunday evening during a theft investigation.
Several Albuquerque PD officers responded to a domestic dispute and began to investigate a report of a stolen video-game console in southeast Albuquerque at 10:30 p.m.
The officer was hit near Ross Avenue and Ortiz Drive SE after officers heard three "pops," reports the Albuquerque Journal.
