Houston Cop Shot, Partner Kills Suspect

March 19, 2013  |

A Houston Police officer was wounded, after a suspect opened fire while officers attempted to pull him over, reports KTRK.

The two officers had attempted to pull over an erratic driver, who led them into a cul-de-sac and opened fire when the officers blocked the vehicle.

Officer Wes Fikes, who has three years of service, was hit when he exited the patrol unit from the passenger side. Officer Jimmy Dodson then shot and killed the suspect. The officer is expected to make a full recovery.
