Lt. Sal @ 3/8/2013 5:40 AM

40 years of service is supposed to get you retirement. Time to be with family and relax. I have been doing this 23 years and am planning my future out of police work. I know being an officer is what we are and not what we do, but we should take this time to reflect and realize there is more for us out there. Mentor the young self motivated officers under you and prepare them to take our places so we can enjoy the retirement we work so hard for. RIP my brother.

Sgt.D @ 3/8/2013 5:55 AM

R.I.P., Trooper Walker. Your example as a veteran trooper serving for so long on the mean streets will inspire as the torch of justice is passed to the next generation.

Jenann @ 3/8/2013 6:11 AM

to: lol 3/7/12 7:19 pm This WAS NOT THE PLACE for your additional comment. Not everyone would appreciate your "sentiments or your language!"

Officer Trooper sounds like a very dedicated public servant, and I'm sure all those he protected appreciated his dedication. I'm not opposed to the death penalty, and the criminal that robbed Officer Trooper of his life certainly deserves it! My heart goes out to the Officer's family and friends.

S.S. @ 3/8/2013 6:40 AM

R.I.P. My Prayers go out to his family and friends.

S.S. @ 3/8/2013 6:42 AM

lol get off the sight!!! I can only imagine what kind of family you come from. P.O.S.

Major Pickett @ 3/8/2013 6:43 AM

It is a sad time for his family, but he is our Law Enforcement guys hero. I hope the justice system in that state served the justice they the citizens and his family desires.

Commander John Anderson @ 3/8/2013 6:51 AM

From Colorado -
While many of us did not know you directly, we all knew you as a family member of our fraternal brotherliness. One day I will be honored to shake your hand and thank you for who you are and what you believed in. God Bless You and your family

Sheriff Edwards @ 3/8/2013 6:57 AM

There is a comment on March 7th which denigrates police in general. Remove it. This man's memorial, and we in the LE community deserve better than this.

Lord please accept this man into your loving arms, and be with his family and friends.

Capt. Gardner @ 3/8/2013 7:16 AM

My brother being on the side of the Lord you have prepared yourself for what the next day may bring, with that said, may God Bless you and your family through these difficult times.

Thank you brother for the many years of service, the years that you stood shoulder to shoulder with all Peace Officers on the thin blue line. Our prayers go out to your family and friends, may God keep them in his loving grace and support them during this time of sorrow. I know we will be here to ensure that your 40 years of vigilance is maintained, and that we honor you and all the officers that have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Lt. D Hanlon @ 3/8/2013 12:58 PM

THANK YOU for serving our Commonwealth,Trooper Walker. Your 40 year's of sacrifice bolsters us, makes us proud, causes us to focus more intently as to why we are here. To the Walker family, friends, and fellow Troopers, I pray peace is found. Regardless of what the courts eventually do, I've found solace in the ultimate Judge's words. Jeremiah 20:11-13

11 But the LORD is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble, they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace Brother! Now you are on patrol in Heaven, protecting the souls on the streets of "God's Country." The prayers and condolences of the Marine Corps Police Department in Barstow, CA go out to your friends, family and colleagues. You served your community with dignity and pride. I hope I, and the Police Officers I serve with, are able to serve our community for as long and with the same distinction and pride you demonstrated. Thank YOU for setting the example that EVERY Law Enforcement Officer should follow. Your absence will be felt for years to come.

Nichole @ 3/11/2013 3:50 AM

Judging by those smile lines around that hard frown, I'd say this guy was a big teddy bear. Very sad. Godspeed.
