VIDEO: Fla. Pursuit of U-Haul Truck
Florida police officers arrested the driver of a stolen U-Haul truck outside Miami Senior High School Friday afternoon after a 45-minute pursuit through residential and commercial areas.
Officers with the Miami-Dade Police Department and other agencies took Darrell Conyers, 46, into custody, pulling him from the truck after police boxed in the vehicle. The pursuit began south of Miami in Cutler Bay at about 12:15 p.m., reports CBS Miami.
Early in the pursuit, the U-Haul truck can be seen ramming a marked cruiser as several unmarked vehicles continue following the truck. Conyers evaded an initial stop when officers attempted to open the driver's side door.
One officer suffered a broken leg when he was pinned between the truck and a cruiser during the arrest.
