Steelers' QB Gives K-9 Grant To Ohio Agency
November 28, 2012
|
Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger provided a K-9 training grant to the South Euclid (Ohio) Police Department on behalf of the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at the Giving Back Fund.
The South Euclid PD retired K-9 Rex in July and plans to use the funds to purchase a new canine for their department. The funds will also be used to purchase a ballistic vest for the new dog and other necessary training and safety equipment.
During the 2012-13 NFL season, the foundation will be distributing grants to K-9 units of police and fire departments in the cities and surrounding communities of each regular season away game for the Steelers.
