VIDEO: Wis. Officer's Head-On Crash
An Augusta (Wis.) Police officer was struck head on by a driver as he sat in his police SUV during a traffic stop.
Officer Dane Wisniewski had pulled over a vehicle, when a red SUV swerved across a two-lane highway and struck his cruiser.
Chief Mike Mosley credited Officer Wisniewski, who maintained his composure, checked on the condition of the other driver, and asked concerned motorists to clear the road to prevent another crash, reports WQOW.
In audio from the cruiser, the officer can be heard radioing dispatch moments after the crash.
