Philly Commish Shakes Up Leadership
November 12, 2012
|
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey announced Friday a series of changes that officials say will help streamline the Philadelphia Police Department, making it stronger, more efficient, accountable and flexible.
"The reorganization will continue to improve our efforts, give us a more streamlined command system, more accountability and greater coordination among units within departments and more consistent delivery among police services across the city," Ramsey said.
There will be 36 command changes, and some units will be consolidated. Ramsey said that he is replacing only one of four retiring deputy commissioners.
