Police arrested two suspects Wednesday for shooting four people at a Halloween party at the University of Southern California that left one in critical condition.

Officials said an argument broke out between two men in front to the university's Ronald Tutor Center, where a campus student organization was hosting the "Freaks and Geeks" Halloween party, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The quarrel led to one of the men shooting his intended target in the torso three or four times. Three bystanders were also wounded with non-life-threatening injuries. None of those involved in the shooting attend USC.

Immediately following the shooting, university officials placed the campus on lockdown.
