Video: Vigilante Stops Subway Fight with Samurai Sword

October 23, 2012  |

VIDEO: Phoenix Transit Samurai

A man wielding a full-length samurai sword broke up a fight on a Phoenix light rail train last week, when he drew the weapon and advanced toward the attackers.

The fight broke out around 2 a.m. on Oct. 6 near Central Avenue and Camelback Road. A train passenger recorded the incident and posted it on YouTube, where it has gone viral.

In the video footage, two younger males appear to jump another male, kicking and punching him repeatedly in the head. That's when a white male can be seen drawing the sword and advancing toward the men.

The incident is currently under investigation by Valley Metro Rail and Phoenix Police, reports KTAR.

hello i just saw this article while sorting through the last 12900 or so entries involving what happened on the light rail in az It my intention to get on cam or on the news but i have a gut wrenching notion I get when this stuff occurs especially when its right in front of me no matter if its deserved or not woman or man and as many have done well to speculate the chance of them having guns of any kind they were kindly stupid enough to flash tats and signs which allowed me to see whether or not they carrying and they were not but I was though i dont draw my Springfield Armory .45 XD anywhere as often as i do Wazwhrinza (My sword) Which Is nowhere near as sleazy or cheap as the matsuri swords It is a 1065 Folded High carbon steel Tamashigiri which I had made to endure and still look pretty ..and it would be valued by sale around $500- $600..by my work budget is still pretty expensive
