San Jose Cop To Chief: 'I'm Gay'
October 10, 2012

San Jose (Calif.) Police officer John Reinert picked an opportune moment to tell his chief a secret he'd been keeping for half a century. Following L-G-B-T sensitivity training, Reinert delivered his message.
"Finally I said, chief, after that session on the 25th, I'm gay too," he told KLFY.
Chief Chris Moore released a memo on Monday promoting National Coming Out Day, saying that, "stress and anguish can result from hiding a person's sexual orientation and the department encourages members to be who they are."
