VIDEO: Sovereign Citizen TASERed In Courthouse

Robert Peterson entered the courthouse for a hearing on a citation he received for riding his bicycle at night without a light.

Peterson refused repeated requests from court officers to stop filming, ranting that he is a man rather than a "person" and is exempt from statues and regulations. Idaho law requires media professionals to get permission before filming in court.

Peterson told KXLY he thinks the case will be dismissed once video of the incident is made public.

Well, I like that this Sh-t head thinks his video is going to help him. I think he should try it again, maybe he didn't get the message the first time.

Morning Eagle @ 9/18/2012 11:00 PM

Last time I checked even "sovereign citizens" are expected to obey the rules for court room demeanor and just because one doesn't like a rule does not give him immunity from it.

Juan 10-13 @ 9/19/2012 4:36 AM

I loved every moment of it. Gotta love my brothers for their excellent taser shot. This should be a training film for all LEOS and it can be titled...."Super Idiots Gone Wild".....kudos to the court security team!

Lou T @ 9/19/2012 6:40 AM

This guy is a complete idiot! Snide punk. Court Officer cool as a cucumber. Gotta love it.

Tom Ret @ 9/19/2012 9:59 AM

Do you feel lucky Mr. sovereign citizen camera man, well do you punk. Go ahead, make my day-zap

USCitizen @ 9/19/2012 12:01 PM

I laughed when he said he has rights. If he doesn't believe in the Constitution what right is he referring to? Does the bible tell him his rights when attending court? Was that something I missed in bible school. Don't Tase me Bro!

Barney Fife @ 9/19/2012 12:04 PM

The best part of the video was hearing the "thud" when his body hit the ground.

The law at the civil level is kindness. The person, Peterson, was very confused. The pushy behavior would have been a problem anywhere. I noticed the Idaho personalities were extremely polite and professional. Mr. Peterson is very lucky tha
t he was simply with people that were no longer amused. All that was needed was "wait in line" and get a press permit for a public court. The terminology he was using was in the wrong forum and though has its place, no one would have been familiar without of range talk that is more theory than what real time is about. What he is talking about is mooted but not practical. Lawful public behavior is far different than just legal. At some point, he stepped over the line. What would have been next as he goes into more verbal aggression? Let us assume; we all know the law, how do we go about getting paid and how do we provide for it? In these weird times, the money was not for the guy, and they were paid. He really did not have enough money to say what he was saying. Just like when Donald Trump is on David Letterman and Dave puts his hand over the microphone while Donald is talking and laughs at him and says, "Donald, you do not have enough money to say that." It is almost a cute story about the things going on today. At least, he is alive to tell the story - this could have been an untold event in some jurisdictions - if the world blows up once it only affects you? LOL

He got his rights to fall on the floor.

Bob@Az. @ 9/24/2012 11:52 AM

Why is it that these young little turds think that everybody is going to bow down when they produce a camera? It's obvious that the only thing he's able to do is be lead around by a bunch of "sovereign" morons who wouldn't understand our Constitution if it was drawn in crayon with smiley faces. Maybe some one should inform them of the meaning of sovereign and get them on a plane to the sandbox where they can be a supreme power by them selves. Blues, stay safe.

Carl W. Goss @ 2/23/2013 1:53 AM

I don't think this guy was operating on all 8 cylinders. I've heard that sort of nutty rhetoric from people who don't seem to be living on planet Earth. Don't know if tasing will set him right. But maybe it will.

Kill Pigs @ 3/6/2013 4:45 PM

People use cameras to make sure police are by the book! not so they will not enforce the law! It seems as though alot of ignorant comments are all police officers are apt to say. Police are not above the law.

Run away slave @ 12/8/2013 3:34 PM

What is SOVEREIGN?
A chief ruler with supreme power; a king or other ruler with limited power. In English law. A gold coin of Great Britain, of tho value of a pound sterling.

Law Dictionary: http://thelawdictionary.org/sovereign/#ixzz2mvbpUhN1

What is SUPREME POWER?
The highest authority in a state, all other powers in it being inferior thereto.

Law Dictionary: http://thelawdictionary.org/supreme-power/#ixzz2mvcRNMG4

Where does the state and the govt. derive their just power. It is not from within. It is from "we the people" real men and women. 400k of you servants in this country shooting defenseless dogs and teenagers. Depriving people of their rights.

I do acknowledge those police agencies making a stand against corruption inside the system. But that is few compared to what's the truth. It's ugly. This comment log up and down has so much hate from you guys. Imagine. That's you or your child. Just doing your job right. This is sick.

jones @ 9/14/2014 8:57 AM

I find it interesting and quite likely the parties entering and claiming knowledge of the us Constitution probably would not be able to distinguish between the 4th and 8th of the Amendments... would they grasp what a Bill really is? Ahh yes, the primordial and manly satisfaction of the 'thud' of another, etc. The individual aiming the camera may have pushed boundaries that ended in his thud, but, the premises under which he is and was trying to operate would have been a mainstay of anyone observing if this were to have occurred 150 years ago in any of the unions of the republic. It is encouraging that many are becoming aware that the public in which we are living is a far cry from just and seeks to take true liberty away in the name of a corporate fiction... many are now seeking, creating and operating justly, peacefully taking back rights which have been usurped for commercial gain. It matters not whether these individuals call themselves sovereign, patriot, etc. The reality is...
