VIDEO: N.H. Cop Rescues Driver From Burning Car
A Manchester (N.H.) Police officer's dashboard camera captured his rescue of an unconscious driver from a burning car with the help of bystanders.
Officer Gerad Gonzalez, a 16-year veteran of law enforcement, was on patrol crash when a passerby stopped him around 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 14 to tell him about a crash.
A Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Blazer had collided and were both on fire on Carman Road. The Blazer was engulfed in nearly 50 foot flames. In the video, Officer Gonzalez is seen rushing toward the Blazer and, with the help of a good Samaritan, pulling the unconscious driver to safety.
"After we dragged him, the car was popping," Gonzalez told Manchester Patch. "You could just hear the glass popping. We thought the gas tank exploded."
