VIDEO: News Copter Helps Portland Cops Catch Bank Robber
Portland Police Bureau officers credited a local television news helicopter with helping them apprehend a bank robbery suspect, after officers had broken off a high-speed pursuit.
Police arrested Brent Woodall on Wednesday. Woodall had celebrated his 29th birthday that day by robbing Riverview Savings bank at 1220 N.E. 88th Street in Hazel Dell, Wash. at about 3 p.m., reports KATU. Woodall is a suspect in a second bank robbery.
Officers pursuing a vehicle Woodall had car-jacked eventually broke off the pursuit, but were able to locate Woodall by watching the KATU live broadcast and communicating with the station's assignment desk.
