Calif. Chief's Wife Found Guilty of Firing at Officers
June 19, 2012

A police chief's wife who claimed a suicidal spiral caused her to fire at officers who responded after she barricaded herself in her Southern California home was convicted on Monday.
Jurors found Brinda Sue McCoy, the wife of Oceanside Police Chief Frank McCoy, guilty on five counts of assault on a peace officer and one count of firing a gun with gross negligence.
Officers responded to the McCoys' Cypress home in 2010. An officer fired a beanbag round at McCoy to end the standoff.
