An Oak Hill (W.Va.) Police officer's ballistic vest may have saved his life early this morning, when it stopped a handgun round from a subject he encountered.
Sgt. J.L. Kirk responded to an alarm in the area of Maple Court Apartments in Whipple and was shot while attempting to make contact with an individual in the area, reports the Register-Herald.
