June 05, 2012

A New Orleans patrol officer union announced it would query its members about departmental policies and procedures to highlight rank-and-file issues that need to be addressed.
The president of the Police Association, Capt. Michael Glasser, said Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas and his administration have dismissed officers' concerns, ranging from rising crime and questionable practices to failing crime-fighting strategies and management deficiencies, reports the Times-Picayune.
The New Orleans PD and Department of Justice are currently negotiating a consent decree for a makeover of the city's troubled force.
