ATF, Oakland Police Arrest 60, Seize 92 Guns

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Oakland Police Department arrested 60 suspects and seized 92 weapons, culminating a four-month investigation.
Operation Gideon III was designed to target and remove violent offenders and dismantle criminal organizations and robbery crews operating in Oakland. Some of the most experienced undercover special agents teamed up with local ATF special agents and officers from the Oakland PD to conduct organized, covert enforcement operations to aggressively combat violent crime perpetrated by career criminals, according to the agency.
In addition to the arrests and seized guns, three kilograms of methamphetamine, two kilograms of marijuana, one kilogram of heroin and a half kilogram of crack cocaine were confiscated.
