Fish Fertilizer Helps Drive Away Pot Smokers at Colo. University
April 25, 2012
|
The University of Colorado successfully suppressed an annual "4/20" marijuana smoking event on its quad on Friday by shutting down the campus and spreading an unpleasant-smelling fish-based fertilizer.
The quad was also enclosed in yellow police tape and police officers were stationed around its perimeter, CNN reports. Students who crossed the line were led away in plastic handcuffs.
In past years, 10,000 to 12,000 people have come to the quad on April 20 to smoke marijuana at 4:20 to celebrate marijuana culture and protest against drug policy.
A few hundred protestors defied the crackdown and smoked marijuana in another field, the Associated Press reports.
