N.C. Corrections Officer Dies After Fall

A North Carolina corrections officer has died after falling down the stairs, the state's Department of Public Safety announced Monday.
Officer William Wright, 31, has succumbed to injuries sustained after he fell while climbing a metal staircase at the Mountain View Correctional Facility in Spruce Pine.
Wright was taken to the hospital for treatment of head injuries and released the next day. But there were complications and Wright died at home Wednesday, reports WLOS.
