SF Mayor Seeks Sheriff's Removal
March 21, 2012
|
San Francisco's Mayor Ed Lee has suspended Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi and plans to remove the embattled lawman, after his sentencing in a domestic violence case.
Mirkarimi refused Lee's call to resign, and the mayor said he will file official misconduct charges Wednesday to bring the matter to the city's Ethics Commission, reports the Silicon Valley Mercury News.
Earlier this month, San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor false imprisonment for allegedly grabbing and restraining his wife.
