VIDEO: Ambush at Florida Vehicle Stop
Following a judge's order, the Florida state attorney's office released dash-cam video of the April shooting of a Cape Coral Police officer at a vehicle stop.
Officer David Wagoner survived and has since returned to duty, reports WZVN.
Officer Wagoner pulled over a Cadillac for expired tags at around 1 a.m. on April 16, 2011. He approached the driver's side of the vehicle to obtain identification. He then circles around the rear of the vehicle to the passenger's side. A silver pistol pokes out the window, and the passenger fires three shots at point blank range.
The passenger, later identified as Yousel Lopez Rivera, was arrested later while hiding naked in a trash can.
