Poll: NYC Voters Support NYPD's Surveillance of Muslims

March 13, 2012  |

New York City voters overwhelmingly support the New York Police Department's anti-terrorism campaign, even as provisions of it have come under criticism from civil rights groups who question the legality of how police target Muslims, reports Reuters.

The Quinnipiac University poll, released on Tuesday, found respondents approved by 63 percent to 31 the way New York police are doing their job and said by 82 percent to 14 percent the NYPD has been effective combating terrorism.

The poll of 964 New York City voters showed Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly won better than 2-to-1 approval ratings and voters said police act appropriately in how they deal with Muslims by a margin of 58 percent to 29 percent.

Political correctness, most often a salient feature with Libs, has served to be a weak spot in ferreting out jihadist movements. Steve Emerson has listed their cell locations and has had the honor of a Fatwa put on him. Sun Tzu wrote The Art of War over 1,000 years ago and said, "You must know the enemy better than he knows you; if not, you will lose." The Muslims inadvertently assist the Jihadi by constantly "taking offense" instead of condemning other Muslims. They are taught by the Imams to NOT ever condemn the interpretation of the Koran by another Muslim when it differs from yours. That is a weakness in their system. LEOS are doing a good job and need their best friend--Profiling.

I think that they should be watching red heads with freckles.

I got an idea, send these AH's back home......I'm sick of all of these cry babies...........I don't care where you are from. We as a Nation must protect all of us, if one group or another doesn't like it well tough.

Civil rights groups question the legality of how police target Muslims? What about the 'civil rights' of the citizens of NYC to be as safe as possible from attack? Must agree with Michael's idea, deport all of them and send the 'civil rights' groupies with them. News Flash for these loud mouth so-called civil rights groups: For the police to figure out who to "target" they must first determine who the most apparent enemy is. Pretty simple - what general group is responsible for 98 or 99 percent of the terrorist attacks on Americans that have taken literally thousands of lives over the past three decades or so? It has been Muslims just in case those morons haven't noticed. To accuse the police of the horrible, politically incorrect method known as profiling on the basis of race, religion, known group intentions, or whatever else they will come up with is ludicrous but that won't stop them nor will it stop the media from parroting their whining. NYCPD must keep doing what it is doing and the sensible law abiding citizens must continue to back them up. It won't be those protesting civil rights groups that will pay the price if NYCPD gives in to so-called political correctness and backs off.

Lets think for a moment! Every generation continues to loose some of their freedom. If the present Administration closed the borders and all fifty state enforced the Immigration laws we would not be discussing this at all. Instead we have a expensive system that actually impedes the average American from traveling freely to and from states and this country. Have you tried to get into local, state or federal building lately? Did you have a problem 20 years ago? We spent billions on all types of LEO's and equipment to protect us. Sorry, I support racial profiling if it was a white Irish/Frenchmen which I'm and this was the group terrorizing the world I still support racial profiling. Like it or not it's still one of the best tools in a LEO's box. Civil Rights how about Constitutional Rights?

Let's see now,if you visit China you comply with their laws. If you visit Germany,Japan,Moscow ect,ect....you do the same. If anything offense you......you are FREE TO LEAVE! You are not invited into a neighbor's house to change their HOUSE RULES! You mingle with crowd and make freinds or GO HOME! Simple! God Bless my brothers in NYPD....they are doing a Great job as always!

Jason Barnes @ 3/14/2012 6:23 PM

NYC Would be derelict in its duty if it did NOT investigate Muslims. Muslims are behind virtually all serious terrorist issues worldwide, AND in the USA. In the last few years the FBI and other authorities have broken up plans for massive Jihad attacks in NYC, including attempts to bomb subway and car tunnels under the rivers.

BTW, will a local NYC officer clarify: Are the Muslims still engaging in massive disruptions by using public streets for "prayer" during the day in Wall Street and elsewhere?
