The Miami-Dade, Fla., police officer caught hauling two mattresses strapped to her patrol car has been suspended, as she winds down her career toward retirement, reports the Miami Herald.
Sandra Lyles, a 32-year veteran, was spotted strapping the mattresses to the roof of her cruiser while off duty. Miami-Dade officers are issued take-home vehicles.
Lyles was six days from retirement when the video of her hauling the mattresses went viral. Her retirement benefits won't be affected by the suspension.
