Wis. Deputy Dies Fighting Theater Fire

A Marathon County (Wis.) Sheriff's deputy died Sunday, after he became trapped in an engulfed theater with two other firefighters.
Deputy Jamison Kampmeyer, who was also a volunteer for the Colby Fire Department, was fighting a fire when he was fatally injured inside the Abbey Theatre in Abbotsford. Two other firefighters suffered injuries from falling bricks.
Kampmeyer, 34, was scheduled to be promoted detective next month. He will earn the rank posthumously.
