La. Deputy Killed In Head-On Crash

Calcasieu Parish (La.) Sheriff's Office Deputy Randall Benoit died in a head-on collision Wednesday in Carlyss. Deputy Benoit was killed when a Ford Focus driven by Charles Harrell, 28, crossed the center line and struck his patrol car.
When he struck the deputy, Harrell was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 1256 near Red Rose Drive, reports KPLCtv.
It's not known why Harrell's car crossed the center line but neither he nor Dep. Benoit was wearing a seat belt.
