VIDEO: SRO Ends Student Fight with TASER
A school resource officer with the Kernersville (N.C.) Police Department used a TASER to subdue a student when two students began swinging at each other Monday at East Forsyth High School, reports the Winston-Salem Journal.
Chris Bloom, 17, fought with his cousin Ivan Smith, 17, in a school courtyard. Before any serious blows could be landed, Officer James Deeney enters and uses his TASER on Bloom.
The video shows the students sparring like boxers and swinging at each other while students around them watch and laugh. A voice that sounds like the officer's is heard yelling "TASER," then the officer comes into the camera's view as he shoots the TASER at one of the students while yelling, "Get down on the ground now!"
Chief Ken Gamble and Principal Patricia Gainey have both said the officer acted appropriately, reports MyFox8.
