Fayette County (W.Va.) Sheriff's deputies shot a man Tuesday who the agency had been investigating on possible child abuse and neglect charges, reports the Charleston Gazette.
At about 5 p.m., deputies entered a one-room cabin near Chestnutburg Road in Ansted to serve a warrant on a man later identified as Brian Lee Koch, 30. Koch had barricaded himself inside the cabin.
As deputies entered, Koch struck a police dog with a rifle and pointed the weapon at deputies, who shot him in the arm.
