A cop killer's bid for a furlough to attend his grandmother's funeral in New York City has been rejected after New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly strongly objected, reports the Daily News.
The audacious request by Todd Scott, who is serving a life sentence for gunning down NYPD Officer Edward Byrne as he sat in an NYPD radio car guarding a prosecution witness' home in Queens, was actually given serious consideration by state officials.

Maybe they should have let him out. Who knows, perchance he could have become the victim of a drive-by where nobody saw anything and the weapon is never recovered. Now that would be a shames, wouldn't it?

Unreal, the fact anyone even slightly considered this, is a joke! You killed someone, you were found guilty, a court sentenced you to prison. Stay there! In the cage where you belong. The officer certainty never had a chance to see his loved ones.

You should have thought about your grandmother, your mother, father, sisters and or brothers before you commited the crime. Shame on our officials for even giving breath to it. This person should never see the light of day again.
