Minn. Cop Loses Control of Vehicle on Icy Road

A Savage (Minn.) Police officer lost control of his squad car on an icy roadway while rushing to respond to a prowler call on Monday, slamming into a tree.
Officer Frank Mackall's squad car went off the road on Glendale Road near 137th Street at about 1 a.m. Monday. Mackall, 39, remains in critical condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
"We're all just hoping and praying for a good outcome," Savage Mayor Janet Williams told the Star Tribune.
