Atlanta Police officers have been moving into homes in some of the city's higher crime areas to live rent free and protect those neighborhoods.
The Atlanta Police Foundation and community groups such as local churches have been coordinating the moves of officers into renovated homes and covering relocation costs of the officers, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Earlier this year, Detroit began a similar program called Project 14.
