Sheriff Arpaio Calls DOJ Report 'Sad Day for America'

December 16, 2011  |

Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff Joe Arpaio called a federal report accusing his office of discriminatory policing "a sad day for America as a whole."

The report released Thursday found that Arpaio's office carried out a pattern of discrimination against Latinos. During a press conference, the Justice Department accused the sheriff's agency of racially profiling Latinos, retaliating against critics of its practices, and operating jails in a way that discriminates against Spanish speakers.

At his own news conference on Friday, Arpaio called it a Pearl Harbor-style sneak attack and political pandering by the Obama administration, reports Fox News.

"President Obama and the band of his merry men might as well erect their own pink neon sign at the Arizona-Mexico border saying 'Welcome all illegals to your United States, our home is your home,'" Sheriff Arpaio said.

The current national administration has wasted a lot of our tax dollars trying to stop a law enforcement leader who has only questioned certain documents. If there was nothing to actually fear...?
btw..Sheriff Joe doesn't care what color you are...if you enter his jail population there ain't no TV channel but Disney. And that ain't in Spanish and I don't believe it should be. His jail is well situated in America. Where free people can speak freely about things without fear of the justice department weighing in on them.

The duly elected Sheriff of Maricopa County is being strong armed by the Ultra Liberal Obama administration. Plain and simple. It is an easy target to use, given the Sheriff's track record. a record of success after success. If the vast majority of your population is of one race and the people who are breaking the laws are of that population, it serves to reason that that segment of the population is going to make up the majority of the population in the Justice system in Arizona. Maricopa County sends a message that they will not tolerate the illegal policies of the Obama administration looking the other way on illegal immigration.

Sheriff Joe...counter sue the federal government...NOW, for discriminating against the rights of Americans to be free from Illegal Aliens.
