Ind. Cop Shot Responding To Help Call

A Waterloo (Ind.) Police officer was shot in the face, while responding to help a couple whose car was stuck in a ditch. The suspect was later shot by additional responding officers.
Investigators are still piecing together details of the Thursday morning encounter. Additional officers responding to the call fatally shot the suspect after he drew a pistol and pointed it at the officers, reports the Journal-Gazette.
The officer was shot near a residence on DeKalb County Road 35 just north of Waterloo just before 3.a.m. He is listed in critical condition.
