Black Friday Begins with Violence

November 25, 2011  |

The holiday shopping season got off to a violent start on Black Friday when a Los Angeles woman pepper-sprayed other customers to get her hands on an Xbox and a South Carolina robbery of shoppers ended in gunfire.

Police are searching for the Latino woman who used the pepper spray on about 20 customers at a Northridge Walmart during a sale at 10 p.m. Thursday.

In Myrtle Beach, S.C., a robber accosted a woman and her shopping companions, as they loaded packages into their car, reports Reuters.
