Mich. Deputy Rescues Stunned Deer

November 15, 2011  |

A Huron County (Mich.) Sheriff's deputy rescued a stunned deer that was stuck in the roadway for 25 minutes after being struck by a car, reports the Detroit Free-Press.

Deputy Ryan Swartz responded to an accident call in Dwight Township to find a deer that hadn't budged from the roadway after it was struck by a vehicle. In dash-cam video from the scene, Swartz decided to move the doe out of the roadway to prevent another accident from happening.

In the video, Deputy Swartz is seen touching the doe, and later moving it from its position on the roadway.

I have to admit that is the strangest deer story I have ever seen. I guess it is true that a deer will freeze in the headlights.

GOD BLESS YOU DEPUTY SWARTZ. WE PROTECT AND SERVE ALL SENTIENT BEINGS, NOT JUST THE ONES THAT WALK ON TWO LEGS.

Most telling is you petting the deer after moving her. Your a good man Deputy Swartz.
