VIDEO: Ind. K-9 Handler Accidentally Shoots Dog
A Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office K-9 handler accidentally shot his dog after a probation violator released three pit bulls that attacked the dog while the officers were serving a warrant.
Dep. Kevin Hertweck was tying to save his dog, Trax, during the attack and accidentally struck him with a round from his service weapon. The deputies were serving a warrant to revoke the probation of Raymond Hill, 39. Trax was buried after a short ceremony, reports the Evansville Courier & Press.
