N.Y. Cop Killer Charged with Possessing 'Escape Paraphernalia'
October 20, 2011
|
Ralph "Bucky" Phillips, who shot one New York State Police trooper to death and wounded two others five years ago during the largest manhunt in state history, now finds himself in more trouble.
Phillips, serving a sentence of life without parole inside Clinton Correctional Facility, has been accused of stuffing a sweat shirt with other clothes, to make it look like a dummy.
Monday's incident, inside the prison's Special Housing Unit, led to an internal charge of "escape paraphernalia." Authorities, though, are not accusing Phillips of an escape attempt.
