Two of Three Shot Fla. Cops Leave Hospital

September 24, 2011  |

Two of the three Lake City (Fla.) Police officers who were shot by a suicidal man, which triggered a lengthy standoff at a home, have been released from the hospital.

Officers David Greear, Mitchell Cline, and Sgt. Jason Byrd responded on Friday afternoon to the home of Jesse Custer, 27, on a domestic violence injunction, where Custer shot them. Custer was found dead in the home.

Officers Greear and Cline have been released. Sgt. Byrd remains hospitalized in good condition.

Glad these officers will apparently be all right. The condition their shooter was found in is also satisfactory.
