A San Diego (Calif.) Police officer who allegedly caused a hit-and-run death last winter while off duty was found dead at his Clairemont Mesa home on Monday.
Officer David Christopher Hall's wife reported his suicide at about 10 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Hall had been on desk duty in recent months, as he faced three criminal counts and a maximum penalty of up to three years and eight months in prison if convicted of the charges.
