Copper thieves did $360,000 worth of damage at Moya Elementary School in west Phoenix after destroying 30 of the school's air conditioning units to steal their copper coils.

A security officer contacted police after he spotted the thieves at 1:45 a.m. on July 24, The Arizona Republic reports. The police arrived with K-9 units, but the suspects - who fled on foot - got away.
