Vacationing NYPD Cop Wounded In Miami Hotel Gunfight

A veteran New York Police detective on vacation in Miami Beach was critically wounded in a gunfight outside of his hotel early Saturday.
Detective Harold Thomas, a 27-year veteran, encountered one or more men on an outside corridor of his hotel at about 7 a.m. Saturday, and exchanged gunfire. Thomas, a member of the NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force, may have been the victim of a robbery attempt, reports the New York Daily News.
