Parolee Fired on 2 Chicago Officers

A parolee has been charged with firing on two Chicago Police officers in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
Daniel Jones, 27, is charged with firing on the officers who had approached him during an apparent drug deal with a second person, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The officers, both 29, were struck by gunfire at approcimately 10:45 p.m. Monday. On sufferred a graze wound to the head, and the second was struck in the left arm, according to an agency statement.
Jones' criminal background included four felonies going back to 2006, including three for drug offenses and one for a gun charge.
