July 19, 2011  |

A homeless woman attempted to sell her 3-day-old infant to a patron for $500 at a Taco Bell restaurant in Hazel, Washington.

Heidi Knowles, 36, offered to sell her son at the Taco Bell at 6700 N.E. Highway 99. The defendant, who also goes by the name Heidi Gasaway, was arrested after a woman called 911 Thursday evening.

Knowles made her first court appearance Monday, and she faces charges of child selling-buying, a Class C felony, and several outstanding warrants. Bail was set at $50,000.
