Terre Haute (Ind.) Police Officer Brent Long was remembered by his chief for "representing the best in society" ahead of today's memorial service for the fallen officer.
About 300 family, friends, and fellow Terre Haute law enforcement officers attended the memorial service for Officer Long, who was fatally shot July 11 while serving a warrant.
Officer Long's K-9 Shadow made a brief appearance at the memorial, reports WIBC, which posted audio from the service.
