Conn. Officers Hit by Friendly Crossfire

Two Plainville (Conn.) Police officers arriving at the scene of an arrest at a movie theater were hit by rounds from fellow officers attempting to take the suspect into custody.
The initial officers were attempting to arrest Eric Gothberg on child pornography charges. Gothberg was reaching for his waistband when Sgt. Timothy Mullaney and Cpl. Jon Eno opened fire.
Officers Clifford Roper and David Slater were injured as they arrived at the scene. Officer Roper was struck by a bullet in the forearm, and Ofc. Slater was injured by shards of glass.
